Last week it was announced Gayfield came 2nd place in the Pitch of the Year award behind Cappielow. This is a brilliant achievement for Jimmy Gauld (groundsman) in his first full season at Gayfield.
Cappielow have 3 or 4 full time staff to work on the pitch there while Jimmy does everything himself at Gayfield. Jimmy works his socks of at Gayfield and this award is thoroughly deserved and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Jimmy from the whole of AFC and thank him for the fantastic work he's put in at Gayfield over the past season. Well done Jimmy!
