Arbroath boss John McGlashan sent out a warning to his players after another humiliation by Albion Rovers
in the Glasgow Herald he said "the guys who let us down today are now going to have an uphill struggle to continue in the team. I've made it clear that, barring the two or three players we have already signed for next season, the rest have been given a challenge. they can either roll up their sleeves and fight to the death or no new contracts will be offered to them"
in the Courier, the manager was quoted as saying "We thought we were on the right track after the last three or four games but obviously we are not. All our old problems came back to haunt us.
To lose so heavily at home is unacceptable. The players are aware that there are a few games to play yet and what we do from now until the end of the season will determine where we end up in the league as a team.
As far as individuals are concerned, I have made it very clear that they face a challenge: they can either accept the challenge and make sure they are here at the start of next season or they can throw in the towel and accept they will not be here.
It's not a veiled threat or an attempt to bully them into giving me better performances, it's reality. There are hundreds of players who can play in the third division and those players who drop out of the third division could
struggle to get back.
They either roll their sleeves up, fight to the death and make sure we are in the mix or don't get offered a contract and find themselves in with the hundreds of other frees who will be available at the end of the season.
