From the Sunday Mail: PAUL CURRIE was sent off for Arbroath after getting a second yellow, and manager Paul Sheerin admits his side were well beate
TODD LUMSDEN hailed a wonderful Albion Rovers display but has demanded to see more of it on a regular basis.
A double from David Crawford and goals by Steven Howarth and Tony Stevenson saw off 10-man Arbroath who had Paul Currie sent off.
Boss Lumsden said: “Our work-rate was pleasing and the players are buying into what we want them to do.
“It’s all about consistency, though. It’s about maintaining this level of performance every week.”
Crawford fired Rovers into a first-half advantage when he unleashed a left-foot strike into the corner of the net.
The home side were totally dominant and should have added to their lead when winger Gary Phillips crashed a shot off the bar.
Howarth did make it 2-0 when he converted a Simon Marriott pass following a great 65-yard run by ex-Hibs kid Crawford.
Stevenson converted a penalty and Crawford tapped home moments after midfielder Currie walked for a second yellow card.
Arbroath player/manager Paul Sheerin had no complaints and said: “Nothing went right for us and we were well beaten.
“I don’t think we got started. You have to be mentally right when you come to a place like this and we weren’t.”
