from the Arbroath Herald: ARBROATH have failed in their attempt to get striker Gavin Swankie on board for another season with Forfar Athletic snapping up the forward.
Swankie (28) was in his third stint at Gayfield after being released by St Johnstone two years ago.
In the championship winning season, he was awarded the Scottish Football League Third Division Player of the Year award after netting 24 goals.
During the last campaign, he made 31 appearances and scored 11 goals.
But it was announced today (Wednesday) that Swankie had signed on at Station Park along with ex-Brechin City player Charlie King.
The pair also join former Lichtie Keith Gibson, who was released by Paul Sheerin at the end of last season.
