Lethargic Lichties left behind

A frustrating afternoon at a dull and windless Gayfield. The team never really got going, making our customary slow starts first and second half (and this cost us dear). Albion were sharper off the mark and first to most balls. Our only threat was Gates who took a fine goal well to put us ahead. We could have snatched an undeserved draw but Sellars weak penalty was easily palmed away

As against East Fife we started poorly and hardly touched the ball for 1o minutes. A slow start again second half saw us lose an early goal which sealed the game. Too many players today seemed out of touch and we let Albion play any football going, being second to every ball. Only Gates looked lively with Darren Hill solid in goal. Lots of poor passes and even Flyer, less effective on the left, had an off day

Arbroath took the lead after 20 minutes through Scott Gates coolly lifted his shot over the on-rushing Myles Hogarth. Five minutes later Albion were level when Ian Harty's shot into the area was turned in by John O'Neil.

The ref lost the plot when Sellars for booked (for deception?) then the linesaman had Albion's Doherty sent off. We took more of the initiatvie then but lacked miuch guile or touch. We pressed for the last 15 minutes but - deserved peantly apart when Gates was pushed rushing in to head a great cross - didn;t come close

We lack much pace and creativity when teams keep tight on us. That;s three league defeats in a row now.
