Relaxed atmosphere at Gayfield as Arbroath looked to finish the job they more than half completed at Hampden. Gibson returned to the starting line-up in place of an injured Jamie Redman with McGuire and Scott on the bench
Great start. A free kick was awarded for an unfair challenge on Keith Gibson by Quinn. Marc McCulloch scored a cracking goal direct onto the bottom left corner. We were coasting after 18 minutes when Mitch Megginson nipped in to nick a second after a defensive mixup left him in the clear. After 35 minutes we could have one further ahead following chances from corners. We were well on top
Second half we sat back a bit and allowed Queens a bit more. They pulled one back after 56 minutes when Daley got one back from a corner. We continued to have some possession and looked more likely but on 83 minutes Rattray headed in an own goal from Douglas's shot.
According to the stats we conceded only 5 fouls all game - surely a record?
We had a comfortable afternoon. Scott, McLean and McGuire had a run as subs and its Forfar in the all-Angus final coming up.
Well done Lichties!
